ALBUM NOTES
The Susquehanna Chorale, founded in 1981 by Artistic Director Linda Tedford, has been recognized as one of the outstanding choral ensembles in the United States. The 36-voice chamber choir is recognized by critics and audiences alike for its commitment to excellence and its artistic interpretations of a diverse and challenging repertoire from the Renaissance to the modern period. The group is known for commissioning numerous pieces and has performed the East Coast premieres of many outstanding works. In addition to its regular concert series and frequent appearances with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, The Chorale has performed at the National Cathedral, numerous conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, in several European cities and at the Chautauqua Institution in New York State. Ensemble-in-residence at Pennsylvania’s Messiah College, the Susquehanna Chorale has received Chorus America’s highest national award: the Margaret Hillis Achievement Award for Choral Excellence. The Chorale’s previous CDs have received national recognition, and two —Wondrous Love and American Treasures—were considered for Grammy nominations.
